A business playbook for moving fleet vehicles, rental inventory, service units, and equipment with manifests, scheduling, and accountability.
Business shipping needs repeatability more than one perfect quote. Standardize the information collected, the approval path, the condition record, and the escalation process.
Create a shipment manifest
Record VIN or asset number, dimensions, operating status, keys, accessories, pickup and delivery contacts, location constraints, and deadline. Use the same fields for every move so exceptions are visible.
Separate service and custody
Identify the broker, physical carrier, storage yard, and final receiver. Track where responsibility changes and require signed condition records at each handoff.
Measure performance
Review pickup success, on-time delivery, damage, invoice variance, communication response, and claims resolution. A low invoice is not a successful move if it creates downtime or rework.
