Sensitive equipment needs a written preservation and packing specification. The goal is to control the environment and movement through every lift, stop, terminal, and unpacking step.
Identify the vulnerabilities
Ask the equipment maker or technician about vibration limits, orientation, humidity, static, temperature, shock, calibration, and removable assemblies. Record the center of gravity and approved lifting points.
Build a layered pack
Use blocking and bracing for movement, padded barriers for contact, corrosion or moisture protection where appropriate, and a crate or skid rated for the weight. Do not seal moisture-sensitive machinery without a condensation plan.
Make unpacking repeatable
Include a packing list, opening instructions, orientation marks, photos, fastener inventory, and inspection checkpoints. The receiving technician should know how to move the machine from the crate to its final foundation.
