Confirm admissibility and classification
Ask a qualified customs broker about emissions, safety, agricultural soil, hazardous residues, age, and temporary-import rules. Clean the machine and document the process when the destination requires it.
Serial numbers, country of origin, declared value, and ownership status should match the commercial paperwork.
Choose the port process
RoRo, flat rack, open-top container, and breakbulk service have different size and handling rules. Confirm port cranes, terminal storage, inland permits, escort needs, and who handles discharge.
Price delay risk
Include customs examinations, demurrage, terminal storage, inland transfer, and re-export deadlines in the plan. A forwarder can coordinate the chain, but the owner remains responsible for accurate information and approvals.
