Life-event moves often involve multiple people and a deadline that matters emotionally as well as logistically. Decide who owns the vehicle, who can release it, who pays, and who signs at delivery before booking.
Match the paperwork to the event
For a new job or retirement move, keep the normal title, registration, insurance, and booking records. For an estate or donation, add executor authority, charity or recipient details, title status, keys, and any lien release.
Plan the endpoint
College campuses, retirement communities, apartment buildings, donation centers, and estate properties may limit truck access or hours. Choose a safe handoff site and name someone who can inspect and sign.
Keep financial expectations clear
A donation does not automatically make transport free, and an estate does not eliminate storage or title costs. Put payment responsibility, taxes, accessorial fees, and cancellation terms in writing.
