Custom and competition vehicles often defeat default carrier assumptions. A good provider asks for the actual build, not just the base model, and plans loading, securement, access, and deadline around it.
Describe the build honestly
List length, width, height, ride height, extensions, roll cage, tow hooks, fuel system, battery, non-running status, and removable aero or body parts. Include tools and spares only when the service allows them.
Match the trailer and deadline
Enclosed trailers, lift gates, shallow ramps, winches, and specialty straps may be necessary. A race deadline deserves a buffer for inspection, weather, and equipment failure rather than an unsupported guaranteed arrival.
Protect the return move
After an event, recheck tires, fluid leaks, bodywork, and loose parts. The condition at return pickup should be documented independently from the outbound condition.
